Chiller and freezer cabinets...

Refrigerated storage cabinets, commonly known as fridges and freezers, come in a number of guises.

Sizes range from undercounter models, typically of 5 cubic feet capacity, up to double door models with capacities of 50 cubic feet or more. Some manufacturers even offer triple door cabinets, although when you get up to that size a purpose-built cold room will often make more sense. There are versions with glass doors, and others in the form of wine cabinets with wooden trim.

Our biggest sellers are the Mondial Elite range of upright chillers and freezers of 13 to 21 cubic feet (as shown here), available with white or stainless steel exterior, and with solid or glass doors.

We love the Mondials most of all because they almost never break down. In fact, of the hundreds we have sold over the years, we have not heard of a single refrigeration failure - and that includes the two that were submerged in four feet of murky Medway water during the floods!

Further up the size scale, the Blizzard all-stainless cabinets which accept 1/1 gastronorm dishes are also very popular.

Note that chiller and freezer cabinets are designed for the storage of pre-chilled and pre-frozen food, not for cooling food from high temperatures.

The fridge/freezer is not a concept you will find in commercial equipment, except where the two compartments have separate temperature controls. The domestic fridge/freezer has only one sensor, in the fridge compartment. This means that when the temperature of the room drops lower that the required fridge temperature, the motor will not cut in. If this occurs for an extended period, or if the freezer section is opened at this time, the freezer temperature will rise above that required for safe storage. This is also why you should not locate your domestic fridge/ freezer in an unheated garage.

PLEASE NOTE: to ensure we give the best possible service we limit our customer base to Kent, UK.
